Why We Honor Veterans
By: Reid
Veterans are very important because they fought for our freedom. Freedom to me means having the right to choose where we live and how we live. It also means I can choose my friends, and do things that I like to do. Freedom of choice is something that we may not of had if the Veterans did not fight for us.
Each Veteran made many sacrifices. Some of the sacrifices were not seeing their friends and family, not being able to be at home where they have a nice comfy bed to sleep in, and food on the table. These are things that we seem to take for granted every day. The biggest sacrifice that some of the veterans made was giving up their lives for us.
The original name of Veteran’s Day was Armistice Day. That name had been given by President Wilson on November 11, 1918. That was the day that one of the most destructive wars had come to an end. Peace and freedom was approaching.
Veterans should be remembered and honored for what they have given us: OUR FREEDOM!

Veterans day is import because if we didn’t have been living somewhere with no mom and no dad. Also you may been have been living in sunless days. It would be terrible . Veterans are great!
Veterans day became a legal holiday on May 13,1938. Soldiers of the 353rd Infantry close to a church at Stenay, Meuse in France, wait for the end hostilities . In November,1919,president Wilson made November 11 the first anniversary veterans day. The reason to celebrate Veteran's day is to honor Veterans.
The sacrifices they make are serious. They also give up going to the grocery store,Mc Donald's and man other things. Veterans give up a lot of stuff. Veterans give up a lot of stuff for us.
I think that Veteran’s day is important because Veteran’s give up things, especially their family time. Their family is also giving up a family member because they know they will fight for our freedom. It is so sad!
If mom, dad, or one of my family members went to war, I would be terrified. I would not know if they were dead or alive. Okay or not! Tt would be so scary. I would often cry.
Veterans are forever honored!

Veteran’s Day is so important because they fought
for us. Veteran’s Day should mean a lot to you because
if it wasn't for them we would not be doing or having
stuff we need most.
Veteran’s Day is about people who died for us and
fought for our country to be free. A lot of people died for
us and they missed out on a lot of fun things.
Veterans gave us freedom and they still do. The sad
part is that they died for us and all of our lives. I think that
Veteran’s Day should be a good way for us to remember the
people who fought for us.
I feel Veterans should be honored from now on.

Veterans are very important people. They fought so we could be free. They didn’t have to, but they cared so much they did.
In 1953, a man named Alfred King had the idea to expand Veterans Day to celebrate all Veterans, not just those who served in World War II. The U.S. President, Woodrow Wilson, first proclaimed Veterans Day for November 11,1919. In 1938, they changed the words “Armistice Day’’ to “Veterans Day’’.
Veterans risked their lives for our country. they put aside time with their families too to fight, and help the wounded.
My Great-Grandfather is a Veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific, and he fought the Japanese. I’m glad he helped out.
I appreciate what they did for us. Think about how the world would be without Veterans.Veterans are very caring people.
We should be forever grateful because of what they did to help us. they should be forever honored.

Veterans Day is about when people from our country fought for our freedom. If we did not have veterans we probably wouldn’t be here right now. Veterans bring other people from other countries to the United States because it’s not safe in their own country. We honor veterans for what they all do.
World war 1 was known as “ The great war “. The agreement was signed on the 11 hour,11 day and the 11 month. Later in the year on October 8,Dwight Eisenhower signed hr7786, changing Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
The sacrifices veterans make are huge. They give up everything. Most of them probably haven’t seen their families in 2 years. They give up their life so we can be free in our country.
If you know someone who has been in the military you should ask them about their experiences. They have probably told you about it. I’m sure you have not seen them in a long time. I know you missed them a lot.
A good way to thank them is if you see someone in a military uniform you should go up to them and say thank you. Even if you don’t know them,Im sure they would like that. You should thank veterans for what they all do. Veterans Day will be forever honored.
Why Do We Honor Veterans Day?
By Braden
Veterans Day is a day of honor. It’s a day of honor for the veterans. I think should celebrate because they spend 365 days for us we should spend at least one day for them. That’s why I think we should honor it. Veterans Day was approved on May 13, 1938. Then every November 11 is Veterans Day. It used to be called Armistice Day. Veterans Day is a great holiday.
Veterans give up a lot of things. They can’t go out to eat and have hamburger. They also have a comfy bed. So veterans give up a lot of things just for us.
We should always honor Veterans Day because they spend 365 days and we should spend at least one day for them.

Every day we should honor those who sacrifice their lives to save us from those who want to hurt us.
Veteran's Day is mostly celebrated in the United States. Veteran's Day use to be called Armistice Day. The signing of the Armistice ended World War 1. On May 24, 1954, November 11 officially became Veteran's Day. This day is set aside in honor of all those people who fought in defense of the United States.
On Veteran's Day Americans honor everyone that is a Military Veteran. They also include the very many working moms that are also Veterans of the Military Service. 1.8 million female Veterans are more likely to work full-time. Veteran's Day is always celebrated on November 11 with parades and speeches.
Veterans gave their lives completely and solely to defend this nation in the event of the war. Many of the people in the war got hurt, shot, or even, killed. They sacrificed themselves to keep us safe. They fought all day and all night to make our country safe and free.
There are many ways that the Veterans have kept us safe and defended us from our enemies.
Veterans Day should be remembered and forever honored.
