Reading Contract For September (Return Signed On September 20th)

I, _________________________ will read at home every day and
will keep a log of my daily reading minutes in my agenda. My goal is to read
__________ minutes for the month of September ((minimum 200). My daily
minutes need to be recorded at the bottom of my agenda and signed by a
parent / guardian.
My parents will check my reading minutes and sign my agenda at the
end of every day. I will return it to school daily so my teacher can check it.
I will need to attempt to earn a minimum of three Accelerated
Reading points by September 30th at noon, and have earned at least two
and a half points with an accuracy rate of 80%. Remember that you need to
earn at least eleven Accelerated Reading points by November 30th to meet
the fourth grade AR trimester goal. .
Also, I will need to complete a minimum of eight of the twelve activities
listed at the bottom of this contract. My parents and my teacher will need to
initialize each completed item to indicate that I have successful completed the
activity. Time will be given in our Language Arts class for much of these
activities to be completed, however it will be necessary for some activities to
be completed outside of the classroom (homework). Students may work
ahead by completing some of the activities at home. Students that complete
the contract early will use the remaining class time to read, work on art
projects, or complete writing assignments. You are encouraged to complete
more than eight of the items.
Finally, I will need to successfully pass the end of the month Notebook
quiz with an accuracy rate of at least 80 %. If I do not accomplish this task or
any of the fore mentioned activities, I will need miss this month’s celebration
and use that time frame to complete the terms of this contract.
I understand that to be eligible for an end of the month reading award, I
must read, sign, and comply with the terms of this contract. This month’s
celebration activity is relaxation time outside time for 40 minutes, which will
take place on Friday, October 1st.

All of these activities need to be stored and kept within your accordion folder.
Additional copies of this contract may be purchased for 10 Krupa dollars. The
activities will be listed on our blog, but the contract must be completed, signed,
and turned in on or before the listed due date.

Write a letter to the department that prints the Minnesota Volunteer Magazine and
request a copy of this magazine for your family. Make sure it is okay with your
parent(s) before you send your address to the Minnesota Department of Natural
Resources. Show Mr. Krupa your letter and he will mail it for you. Mr. Krupa has the
address and and an envelope

beginning/ starting location and the Great River Regional Libraryʼs address as the

Create a ZOOM book and ReZoom book. Make sure your book has a
cover, title page, dedication page, and at least five written/drawn pages.
Create a worksheet of five Data problems with an answer key on a separate sheet of
paper. Your worksheet must include the data, along with areas for listing its
descending/ascending order, total, maximum, minimum, range, median, and mode.
Draw a picture depicting the moment the tornados hit the town of Grand Island. Put at
least on of the main characters in your picture. Try to convey and sense of
responsible action taking place in your picture. Examples: Getting to the basement,
taking cover, listening to the radio, etc.
