Family LIteracy Nights

Good morning!

In an effort to help give parents the tools they need to help their child become a better reader, PV will be hosting two Family Literacy Nights this year in addition to the One District One Book events.  The first Family Literacy Night will be Mon. Nov. 19th.   The second will be Mon. March 18th.

The goals of these events are to:
  • *  Prepare and empower parents to help their children become confident, successful readers
  • *  Teach parents ways to become a positive force in their childís literacy development
  • *  Provide practical ideas for how parents can help at home.
*  Have fun with literacy!

I have attached the flyer that will be sent home with the youngests sometime this week.  Please enourage families to attend as you talk with them at conferences this week, especially if they are wondering how they can help at home!  There will be sessions for K-2 beginning readers as well as for 3-5th grade readers so there is something for everyone!  In addition to the literacy sessions, there will also be pizza, childcare, and every child that comes will get a free book!  Yippeee!

Please let me know if you have questions about the event.
