Next Week

• Math:  We are finishing up Unit 8 on Monday and will take the Unit 8 Math Test on Tuesday.  Wednesday, we will begin the next unit - fractions
• Grammar/Writing:  We will continue to look at different types of poetry and work on our individual poetry books.  In grammar we will be learning comparative and superlative adjectives.

• Reading:  Our main reading skills for the week are theme, summarizing and practicing multiple meaning words.  We will be having our AR reward party for second trimester on Thursday.  All students who made their goal will get a choice of movie to watch and a special treat.  Board games may also be brought from home if they wish.  We will write reminders for this into agendas next week for those attending.

• We had MANY students with late reading work this week.  Reading logs were due today as well as AR goals with parent signatures.  Now that we are in third trimester, I will not be accepting late reading logs unless they are absent.  All 4th graders must be practicing reading at home at least 5 days a week and doing a reading log activity each of those days.  Filling in logs at the last minute or only reading one day a week will not be accepted.  Please check with your child if they handed these things in today.  
• New reading logs went home today and will be due next Friday.
