Be Watching for the Survery

Good afternoon!

If you recall from the begining of the year, our district will be participating in a Community Wide reading event called One District, One book. We will officially be kicking it off at the Jan. late start and it will run through the end of February. There will be much more information coming out in the next few weeks about the program and what will be involved but there is one thing we need your help with now.

We are working with the organization that created the program to find out the program's effectiveness. In order to do this, we are going to collect some data by surveying the teachers and parents about reading both before the program and after it is over. The easiest way we can think of to survey the parents is for the survey to be available at conferences.

Lori or Katie will be getting the survey to you soon. We are asking that you have the survey available while parents are waiting in the hallway to complete and a basket for them to turn it into when they finish. (A little reminder from you to do it would also be great!) You do not need to tell them anything about the program or need to answer any questions about it. The survey is just a general reading survey. You can turn in all finished surveys to the office for us to collect.

We will also need to know how many of your parents came to conferences so before you leave on Friday if you could email me the number of parents that attended/whole class, that would be helpful as we put the data together.

Please ask Lori Posch, Katie Wilson, Sue Paasch, or myself if you have any questions!

Thanks so much for your help!
