Just a few of items for your attention.

First of all if your student participated in the PTAC Chip Shoppe Fundraiser, the items will be available for pick up on Thursday, March 25th from 2 - 6 pm in the gym.

We are also in need of a few parents to volunteer to help with this fundraiser distribution on Thursday Night. If you are able to help please contact Cathy Valek at valeks@charter.net.

The second item of information is the following:

Pleasantview Elementary School is working with the Sauk Rapids High School Student Council and the United Way to collect items for the local food shelves. Each grade level is collecting certain items. Kindergarten - Toothbrushes, Grade 1 - Toothpaste, Grade 2 - Toilet Paper, Grade 3 - Shampoo/Conditioner, Grade 4 - Soap/Body Wash and Grade 5 is collecting Deoderant. Even though we have designated items per grade level, all donations of food and personal care items will be gladly accepted. We will be collecting until the end of March. Thanks for your help with this effort to stock our local food shelves.

AR Minutes

The third trimester AR goal, 11 points, is due on May 14th. Due to this early deadline our nightly AR minutes will need to be slightly increased so that each student can meet their goal. This month's Reading Contract reflects this increase, as will each consecutive month. If you need to alter your child's AR minutes, please indicate this change on the contract. Thanks and good luck meeting your goal.

News and Updates

Hi everyone, we are still in need of about 100 bottles by Friday for the walk for life, The bottles need to have a opening large enough for coins, such as gatorade, life water, some juice bottles etc.

A Special Note for Parents of
Fourth Grade Students!

We are looking forward to the Pleasantview PTA sponsored Spring Carnival to be held on April 30th. Every year each grade puts together one or more special theme gift baskets. This year our theme is ‘The Great Outdoors’! One dollar raffle tickets will be sold at the carnival as chances to win the basket. We are asking students in the fourth grade to bring in $2.00 to be used for the purchase of items that will be put in our basket, or they may chose to donate items to put in the basket. These items could purchased for any age group in a family and should be related to our theme. Please send your donations to your child’s classroom teacher by April 13th.

Please help us fill our basket!

Reading Contract is due on Thursday (so I may copy it and give it right back)

Yes, students may bring a green purchased (not homemade) treat for the class on Wednesday, March 17th. The only stipulation that I have is that the green color of the item already be present and not added in any manner. For example: M & M's , mint ice cream, cupcakes or cookies with sprinkles of multi-colors that include green. Enjoy the Spring-like weather!

Good questions to ask your child...

are you going to bed at an appropriate time? I've noticed a lot of tired children this week. Also, a few sniffles and sneezes. Maybe the warm weather is giving everyone a restless evening with thoughts of Spring. Please check to see that you're getting to bed at a decent hour. No fun being sickly or out of sorts. Thanks!
