Good afternoon,

I hope you are as excited about beginning the new school year as I am!!! I have got to believe you are, because you've already made the attempt to check out our blog site! Good for you!!!

Listed below are your instructions for Open House so you can prepare yourself for an eventful evening (a copy will be made available as you enter the door). I can't wait to meet you! Check out number 5!!! See you on Wednesday evening!!!

I love new beginnings and I’m looking forward to spending the school year with you! Please do the following before you leave tonight: First and foremost, introduce yourself and your family members to Mr. Krupa. Welcome!

_____1. Find your red folder on the chalk tray at the front of the room. This folder is to be used as your daily take home folder. Please bring it back on Tuesday, September 7th.

_____2. Locate your name tag on one of the desks. Sit in the desk to see if it fits you. Leave your name tag on your desk.

_____3. Put any of the supplies that you brought with you tonight in your desk. Please make sure that your name is on all of your supplies, including your new agenda. Also, sharpen two pencils so you are ready to begin on Tuesday morning. If you brought in a Minnesota map, two decks of cards, a cassette tape, or CD player you may put these in a bin on the side table. Three ring binders may be put on the corner shelf back by the yellow cabinet / classroom library area.

_____4. Take home the forms in your folder and have a parent or guardian fill them out either tonight or over the weekend. You may place the forms in the proper container on the side table when they are completed. The materials on the right side of your folder are to be filled out and returned. The materials on the left side of your folder are yours to keep. Check your folder for the note about bringing in three items, by September 10th, that represent your hobbies or interests. These items should be transported in a bag and kept a secret from your classmates.....shh!

_____5. Have Mr. Krupa take your picture with a family member. These will be displayed in our classroom throughout the year. Smile!

_____6. Sign up for the October conference. The sign up sheet is located on the chalkboard.

_____7. You may pay for your lunch expenses tonight. Please make the checks payable to Pleasantview Elementary and give the check to the attendant in the gym.

_____8. Please bring a healthy snack and beverage to school during the week of September 7th thru September 10th. This is due to the fact that paid milk/juice options will not be made available until September 13th.

_____9. Tour Pleasantview. Find the computer lab, media center, bathrooms,nurse’s office, cafeteria/gym, music room, and art room.

_____10. Get lots of rest because we’ll be busy September 7th! School begins at 7:35 AM.


As an elementary student, I was always eager to find out who was going to be in our classroom. I can't put their names on the blog site until I have their signed permission slip turned in, but I can give you their initials. Who do you think they are?
